DAVID LACHAPELLE DELIRIOS DE RAZÓN | DELIRIUM OF REASON

MUSA celebrates his 15 years with LaChapelle’s Derilium of Reason

For the first time in Guadalajara, DAVID LACHAPELLE, the so-called “Fellini of photography”, is being exhibited at Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara.

Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara will host more than 60 pieces by this talented artist.
The exhibit will be presented by curators César Vázquez Navarro and Fred Torres.
More than 130,000 people attended the same exhibition, DAVID LACHAPELLE DELIRIOS DE RAZÓN | DELIRIO DE LA RAZÓN, in the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso in Mexico City.
As a result of the high demand from the public in Mexico City, the show was extended two weeks.

Guadalajara, Friday June 26, 2009.- Assuming the risk of stating uncomfortable truths using disturbing images is very common among artists; however, though their expressive mediums may be qualified as irreverent, they are always invitations to reconsider, revise, or redefine the mode in which current society faces the contradictions, injustices, abuses, and excesses that weaken it, as is shown in the work of DAVID LACHAPELLE. It is with great pride that the Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara will present the international exhibit DAVID LACHAPELLE DELIRIOS DE RAZÓN | DELIRIUM OF REASON.

Along with the exhibition of DAVID LACHAPELLE DELIRIOS DE RAZÓN | DELIRIUM OF REASON, a University Forum in which the artist will present his works and discuss his process will take place. The Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara will offer guided tours of the exhibition. Around this large exhibition will be carried out other events, which will surprise all the guests.

UNIVERSITY FORUM BY DAVID LACHAPELLE

Guadalajara, Jalisco, August 24th, 2009.- The exhibit DELIRIOS DE RAZÓN | DELIRIUM OF REASON comes to our city with a successful precedent in Mexico City and next to that event will be held an University Forum by the artist David LaChapelle

The University Forum is a workshop that lasts two hours and where all the public will have the opportunity to be closer to the artist, learn more about his history, his influences, his inspiration and hear from his own voice how he earned the reputation that he now enjoys as an artist. In this workshop David LaChapelle shows some of his most representative works and will explain how he conceived them and how did performs; the production, the props he uses and how he achieves such shocking images.

This workshop will be held in Teatro Diana, located in Av. 16 de Septiembre 710, Downtown, in September 4th at 20:30 hr. The tickets will be available in Ticketmaster system, theater’s ticket office and by email at: forodlc@212productions.tv.
